As an ex librarian I am extremely keen on promoting the love of books to young children. We have many to choose from as well as a good selection of story sacks. Reading is an integral part of our day and is enjoyed by all of the children. The alphabet is available in many forms and is played with as an everyday toy; putting them on the magnetic board, colour sorting the individual pieces and looking at the alphabet and saying the sounds from the playroom bunting. Numbers are prominent in the house and are seen by the children as an everyday tool. We count the numbers on the blackboard, on the rug, on the clothes line and play with numbers, hiding them around the house and to be dug up in the sand pit. There are many shape related games to play with and sort.
