I have worked with children for many years. When I was 18 I worked in a summer camp in America. I spent three months taking the children horse riding, swimming and partaking in various art activities. I also worked as an au pair in the south of France for a summer where I took care of a 6 year old girl and 4 year old boy. As a teenager I was also a young brownie leader. In later years I have been working as a teaching assistant working with children from 4 to 11. I really enjoy doing art and craft activities with the children and reading stories to them (I am also a librarian). I am very much ‘hands on’ and love making things with children and getting them involved. I have currently been working as a childminder for two years and am very much enjoying it.
I have an M.A. degree in Art History from the University of Aberdeen, a postgraduate diploma in Museum/Art Gallery Studies from the University of St Andrews and a postgraduate diploma in Library and Information Management from Manchester Metropolitan University. I have worked as a librarian/information worker for the British Council and for the University of Cumbria. I am a qualified teaching assistant (level 3) and have worked in schools for seven years.
